Name and title

Maren Ashworth, author, speaker and mentor. Louisville, KY

Short bio

Maren Ashworth writes and speaks for people who carry other people: pastors, founders, teachers and parents. She has served in local churches for more than twenty years, and she mentors a small group of leaders each year. Her message is plain: tell the truth, keep your word, and rest before you break.

Long bio

Maren Ashworth grew up in a small town in Kentucky, the daughter of a school bus driver and a church pianist. She learned early that most of the good in the world is done by tired people who keep showing up.

She spent her first years in ministry on staff at a mid-sized church, where she taught, wrote the newsletter and carried more than one job at a time. That season is the soil for her books. She writes about honest leadership, ordinary habits and the slow work of finishing well.

Today Maren speaks at conferences, retreats, campuses and staff gatherings, and she mentors a small cohort of leaders each year. She keeps her calendar short on purpose so that she can answer every invitation herself.

She and her husband live in Louisville, Kentucky, with a loud dog and a quiet porch.
